Diesel Drag Truck Set to Race at Spokane Raceway Park
Diesel Power Products latest project is the perfect blend of a street legal muscle truck and a diesel truck. The 1994 12 Valve Cummins short box regular cab drag truck was originally built by Darin Honodel with assistance from Bill Fletcher of Diesel Pros in Stanwood, Washington and Jason Burton of NorthWest Customs in Spokane, Washington.
Consistently running in the 10’s over the past few years, its best time has been 10.2 seconds and its fastest run 133 mph. Set to appear at Spokane Raceway Park in July, it features turbo piping and a custom roll cage built by Burton.
The mini-tubbed box makes room Mickey Thompson 31X14X15 Sportsman SR’s to carry this smooth running truck that should produce upwards of 1000RWHP on the dyno.
The original build includes: Diesel Pros cam and rotating assembly, industrial Injection Phat Shaft 66 over Big Brother twin turbos, BD Cool Covers, ATS exhaust manifold, ATS full billet Stage 6 transmission with Five Star Torque Converter, BD Diesel FlexPlate, Industrial Injection Injectors, Diesel Pros Custom P7100 injection pump fed by 2 Mallory 150 fuel pums, O-ringed head, Mahle 30 over pistons shaved to drop compression to 14.68:1, 14mm head studs, custom Diesel Pros valve springs and Nitrous Express Progressive nitrous system.
Inside the cab is a custom dash with 9 Autometer Sport Comp Ultralight gauges, a B&M ratchet shifter, Scat Pro Car five point harness racing seats and a slamming stereo. Tyler Lucas, part owner and driver uses this awesome street legal machine as a daily driver while preparations continue for it’s debut appearance at Spokane Raceway Park.
Plans are for the truck to see action next year in the NHRDA Race Series after finishing out the remainder of this year with action at Spokane and various dyno competitions in the North West. As well as some more modifications, including a 4 link rear supension, FLO-ProBlack Staks, AFE air, Flex-A-Lite electric fans and a custom Diesel Power Products wrap from Ken Fuher Signs in Spokane.

Mallory Fuel Pump is dying. :( - Club Cobra
I do need to relocate this thing; took me 1.5 hours to remove it because of the location I chose. If you look at my journal on this, it's located on the battery box behind the IRS pumpkin, but getting the 4 bolts off was a PITA since I have to remove the battery first, and since the car is now "completed", I had to improvise a way to hold the nut while I turned the bolt from below. Got it done but realized I wrapped the ground connection too far to reach (above the fuel tank) so I cut it so I can re-do it in a new and easier location (thinking behind the rear splash panel where getting to it will be much easier.
