Saturn storm stretches for 17000 kilometres
More pointedly, a massive storm presently raging on the distant ringed planet has caught the eye of stargazing scientists after it was captured on camera by the nearby Cassini space probe during the tail end of 2010.
Also visible from Earth with the aid of powerful ground-based telescopes, Saturn’s storm was first spotted following the appearance of massive swirling white streaks of ammonia cloud measuring around 17,000 kilometres across.
In terms of power, the storm is producing as many as ten lightning blasts every second, with each bolt carrying around 10,000 times more energy than the flashes we witness here on Earth.
Labelled a ‘Great White Spot’ by scientists, such huge storms are fairly infrequent on Saturn, hitting the planet once every 30 years or so. This particular storm has likely developed as the planet changes seasons.

Hi there. I had an MRI the other day for dizziness, heaviness, discoordination, headaches/neckaches. It came back normal but as I was flipping through it I came accross this big white ball near my eye socket I guess. I suppose its ot really in my brain(?) so I don't know if this is the place I should be but I couldn't find any other site that I thought would be helpful. Maybe someone has seen this before? I plan on asking the doctor on Monday, but as we all know, Monday is far away when there is a big white spot on your MRI. It also might be worth noting that around the onset of all my other symptoms, I developed floaters in my right eye. They came on very suddenly and have not relented. I have seen a opthalmologist who said all was well, just regular floaters, but I am suspicious of their sudden onset. Thanks so much for any help. I know that nobody here can disgnose me with anything or say for sure, but I just need some direction.
