JRMC birth center to use advanced tools

Hospital rooms aren’t always happy places. But most on the north side of Jamestown Regional Medical Center’s second floor will be, and not just because of the pink and powder-blue caps.

The Family BirthPlace at Jamestown Regional Medical Center is the only birthing center between Fargo and Bismarck and Devils Lake and Aberdeen. At its new location, the BirthPlace promises more efficient services, better security and state-of-the art equipment to provide the best care for moms and babies.

Located on the second floor of the medical center, next to pediatrics and a floor above the operating rooms, its position is the first in the case care is needed - C-sections being one of the most common among them . That need is no longer a problem, Formo said, as with the new medical center, physicians can access that information via computer at the clinic or even at their homes. Medical staff will also be able to access the information from the nurses’ station or computer stations set up outside patient rooms. This makes monitoring patient progress easier and more convenient for medical staff, but it also improves quality of care for those patients.
